With the return of tsaharon this week, there are many questions that concern parents such as hours of operation, staffing, classes and more:
Why does tsaharon run until 4pm and not 5pm?
This is not regular tsaharon, but a basic emergency plan born out of the state of emergency; a plan budgeted by the state that establishes uniform operating rules including hours of operation.
Are there any extra curricular staff entering school grounds, such as for Chugim?
In accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health, entrance to kindergarden premises is exclusively for pupils and staff. Therefore, no chugim will be held there.
Is the staff known to the children?
Kindergardens will be staffed mainly by the original staff. However, due to the need to separate pupils into groups (capsules), dozens of new tsaharonim were opened that include assistants that were not in that specific facility before the Corona crisis.
How do we collect our children in the afternoon, will parents be admitted?
At the end of the day, at 15:50, each group exits the classrooms to leave the premises whilst each group is located in a different area. When one parent arrives and is identified, the child is released to his parent.
What happens if there is more that the permitted amount of children in a group?
A classroom where there are more than 18 children has been divided into two capsules of up to 18 children and therefore no situation described in the question will exist.
What happens if school ends at 12:40 and tsaharon starts at 13:00?
At 12:40, the assistants will take the tsharon children to the tsaharon class, taking care that each person wears a mask and ensuring that they are not congregating together.
Do children need to bring water bottles for the whole day?
Water bottles can be refilled provided the bottle does not touch the mouth or the tap.
Could there be mixing between classes and kindergardens?
No. The tsaharon takes children coming from the same capsule. Children from another capsule cannot be transferred to this tsaharon.
Do we need to present a valid health statement for every school day?
Yes. Before the start of tsaharon, the morning staff presents the childrens’ health statements to the afternoon staff.
Can I join Tsaharon even though I wasn't registered before?
Currently you cannot join, later it may be possible on the basis of available places.
