01/03/2021 י"ז אדר תשפ"א

Modi'in Maccabim Reut has one of the highest rates of COVID 19- Vaccinated populations in Israel; close to 90% of residents aged 16 and over have already begun the immunization process and have received the first dose, and some the second. Data from the Ministry of Health also shows that close to 75% of the city's adult residents have been vaccinated with the second vaccine, and about 70% of the city's residents already have a green pass.

Despite the encouraging data as of Sunday, 28.2.21, there are still 6,459 residents who have not yet started the vaccination process against the corona virus.

According to municipal data obtained from the Ministry of Health, the group of adult students aged 16-19 is the group with fewest vaccinators compared to other age groups in the city.

This coincides with reports that according to the Ministry of Health, adolescents and young people are becoming infected with the virus at a higher percent than in the last wave, as a result of its mutations and probably also due to the immunization of the older population.

According to the data, about 74% of residents between the ages of 16 and 19 started the vaccination process, and 2,033 adolescents have not yet done so.

The youth vaccination complex will be operated by Magen Israel through MDA, and in collaboration with the Youth and Young People's Division on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, from 10:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the Shvatim Sports Hall on Yitzhak Rabin Boulevard in front of House number 23.

This vaccination complex is intended to serve adolescents who have not yet been vaccinated, and after their first vaccination at this complex, they will be scheduled for a second vaccination through their health funds at that time.

Haim Bibas, Mayor: “Our city is defined as a green city with a very impressive percentage of immunizations, relative to other cities. We have identified that the youth population is less vaccinated, in part, due to the fact that they were the last to do so according to the priorities set by the Ministry of Health, and at the same time, this population is vulnerable to this wave of corona. I call on parents and teenagers to come and get vaccinated and take care of themselves and those around them, and to allow everyone to return to a good and enjoyable life as soon as possible. "

Baruch Bochnik, holder of the Health Portfolio: "Our city currently has 90% vaccinated and about 75% of vaccinated youth. Every individual has a responsibility for the public area, therefore we opened the vaccination complex to make it easier for youth to get vaccinated quickly and without having to wait for an appointment through the health funds.”
