Pest control is carried out gradually throughout the city, in neighborhoods and public spaces with a focus on places close to educational institutions, construction sites, canals and water reservoirs.
In these places, the Logistics, Operations and Maintenance Department performs spraying against mosquitoes to prevent their reproducing. The unit also conducts frequent tests and monitoring.
Residents can also help reduce the presence of mosquitoes at home by doing the following:
Clear tangles of plants, shrubs and pots.
Check bottoms of pots that accumulate water.
Check places in the house where standing water can be located, such as air conditioners, which are mosquitoes breeding grounds.
In addition, it is recommended to protect against bites, especially at nightfall, by wearing long clothes.
Installing nets in the windows of houses and using fans.
