With the completion of upgrades to Tchelet St, work to upgrade Emek Ayalon South Road is being resumed. Temporary traffic arrangements will be in place during the roadworks.
On Wednesday, 5.11.25, the work to upgrade the road on Tchelet St in the Avnei Chen neighborhood was completed. A project that was carried out in stages, while adhering to schedules and minimizing disruption to residents. The work, carried out by the Municipal Economic Company, began on 19.10.25 and lasted about three weeks. It included scrubbing and resurfacing the three sections of the street, to improve quality of travel, ensuring maximum safety, and upgrading the surface of streets in the old neighborhoods.
The Economic Company and the municipality are now preparing for the start of work to upgrade the road on Emek Ayalon South Boulevard (on the odd-numbered side of the boulevard). The work is expected to begin on Sunday, November 16, and will take place in several stages.
During the first stage, from Sunday, November 23 at 9:00 am until Friday, November 28 at 9:00 am, Emek Ayalon South will be closed to traffic, on the section of the road between Emek Ayalon circle and Klil Ha-Horesh Street (excluding the circle) and the Emek Ayalon intersection and Shomrei Ha-Homot Street (excluding the intersection).
During the work, the following traffic arrangements will be in place:
Vehicle traffic to Emek Ayalon circle and Klil Ha-Horesh will be allowed from all directions but exit from the circle will be allowed to Klil Ha-Horesh Street (south) only.
Entry and exit to Modi'in Center shopping center will only be allowed from the north side of Emek Ayalon North (the even side of the street). Access from the south side will be blocked.
Please note that entry to the parking lot will only be allowed to those coming from Shomrei Ha-Homot Street.
Those coming from the north (from Shomrei Hamot Street) to the Emek Ayalon/Shomrei haHomot intersection will be able to turn right (west) as usual, without change.
During the work, parking is prohibited in the parking bays where the work is taking place.
As a reminder, the municipality's road and infrastructure upgrade program is a multi-year program that is being carried out in the city's oldest neighborhoods. As part of the program, scrubbing and grading work, sidewalk renewal, improved drainage systems, and upgraded underground infrastructure are being carried out, all with the aim of ensuring safety, accessibility, and a high quality of life for residents.
