In addition to the financial reward, program participants benefit from a sense of empowerment and belonging to the city and a contribution to the promotion of social and community projects in the city. Among the areas of volunteering: promoting projects for diverse populations, new immigrants, youth, children, special needs, the elderly, assistance in community centers, and more. The amount of the scholarship that each student can receive ranges from about 5,000 to 10,000 NIS.
Cherie Albucher, Chair of the Municipal Scholarship Committee: "In the past two years, we have seen them, with heroism, dedication, volunteerism, reserve duty, quiet strength, and their good choice to be part of the action. They are the future of the city. They are the future of the country. Our job is to continue to invest in them because this is the most important investment there is."
