Dozens of chess players participated in the Modi'in Open Chess Championship held at Beit Sachlabim over Chanuka.
Last Monday, the Modi’in Open Chess Championship was held, with the participation of dozens of children, teenagers and adults, who came to compete on the chessboard in a competitive, respectful and festive atmosphere. The tournament included divisions according to age and level and displayed a high level of professionalism alongside an impressive sportsmanship.
At the end of a day of exciting competition, a festive ceremony was held in which the winners were announced: In the children's category, Daniel Halevy won first place, Alon Weiss second place and Ido Semel third place. In the youth category, Lev Fogel came in first place, Mark Peres came in second and Shahar Ben Yakar came in third. In the ranked adult category, Ilan Semel won first place, Tomer Reinhold second place and Shai Segev third place.
The success of the tournament, led by the Key Club, is a testament to the impressive development of the local chess club and the growing demand for chess in the city.
The event took place thanks to the cooperation and support of Sachlabim Association, the Sports Department and the professional staff, who work together to promote sports for all ages.
