Recently, a training course for commanders of the Yehuda Battalion was held in Judea and Samaria, as part of the training and preparation process for its first operational deployment in the area. The training course was attended by approximately 25 commanders from the platoon staff and company commanders.
The purpose of the training was to train and prepare for the first operational deployment in the Judea and Samaria sector. The training included strengthening the commanders' readiness for ongoing security missions, deepening their familiarity with the operational space, and creating a uniform professional language among all levels of command.
The day began with opening remarks by the company commander, who emphasized the importance of the commander as a professional and values-based anchor in the field, especially for a battalion that is in the process of establishing and building a force. During the theoretical part, the commanders underwent a series of professional training courses and a review of operational incident investigations. The content focused on understanding threats, making real-time decisions, and drawing relevant lessons for company activity in the sector. Later in the day, the commanders visited various wings where they were exposed to operational means, capabilities, and working methods. Exposure to the brigade environment contributed to deepening the sense of confidence and certainty among the commanders and strengthened the understanding that operational activity relies on close cooperation between all the factions in the field.
This training constitutes another significant step in building the force with the understanding that professional, cohesive and confident commanders are the key to operational success in the field.
The Yehuda Battalion was established as part of the lessons in the aftermath of October 7th and the understanding that there are many challenges, with the need to strengthen security in localities, being critical. The battalion's role is to respond to emergency incidents, that is security incidents that occur in realtime in localities, as well as ongoing security. The battalion is composed of combat reservists, commanders and officers from the combat formation, who have been exempted from reserve service (non-medical) or those who have passed the age for reserve service and wish to return to service.
The city of Modi'in Maccabim Reut is part of the area over which the Yehuda Battalion is assigned, and it provides a security response to the city and to nearby localities.
