Led by the Mayor, and after an in-depth survey among residents, shuttle line 712 will be significantly extended and its route changed, to ensure space and availability for Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut residents using this service.
The move, which will come into effect starting this weekend , February 13th, was approved and led by Mayor Haim Bibas, after allocating designated budgets and conducting a large-scale in-depth survey among Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut residents and service users.
As part of the reinforcement, 8 trips were added each weekend, so that the total number of trips will stand at 27 compared to 19 trips that were customary until now.
The entire move is based on the findings of a digital survey conducted during January 2026, in which about 300 active users of the "N'aim BeSofash" service took part.
One of the main findings that emerged from the survey and from the field concerned the problem of congestion within Tel Aviv: internal city passengers would board the line for short trips, mainly in the Dizengoff area, which caused the bus to fill up after just a few stops, and residents of Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut, who wanted to return home, were left without a seat.
Following the findings, it was decided to change the route of the line within Tel Aviv. The line was diverted from Reading terminal and will run via HaNevi'im Street and Shaul HaMelech to the Golda terminal. At the same time, the direct connection to central destinations such as Rothschild, Habima and Dizengoff Center was maintained.
New stations were also added to line 712: Sarona, South Ibn Gvirol, Kirya, Cameri and the Tel Aviv Museum. The new route includes stations that allow for frequent transfers to additional lines, at least four times an hour, to all areas of the city.
The municipality emphasizes that the reinforcement and change of the route are part of a broader policy of strengthening accessibility, reducing dependence on private cars, improving the quality of life and promoting smart, equitable transportation for the residents of Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut.
Mayor Haim Bibas: "We make decisions based on data, not feelings. We allocated budgets, conducted an in-depth survey and listened to what the city's residents really need. The reinforcement of line 712 and the change of the route are intended to ensure availability, space on the bus and a convenient connection to entertainment and culture. It is a smart urban service that is tailored to our city."
