The Modi'in Maccabim Reut Municipality announced a change in the way emergency updates are sent to residents; from now on all alerts and real-time instructions will now be sent via the municipal Emergency Updates channel on WhatsApp.

The move is intended to create a single, accessible, discreet and reliable source of information for residents, which allows them to receive updates in real time, in an organized manner, without message overload and without exposing participants' names or phone numbers as is the case in whatsapp groups.
The municipality emphasizes that during periods of security tension, reliable and accurate information is a key component of civil resilience, and that it is of great importance to concentrate messages on one official channel, while avoiding the spread of rumors or unverified information.
In accordance with the change, the municipal emergency groups will continue to exist but will be used to notify in exceptional events only. The emergency channel will be the central platform for transmitting alerts and ongoing instructions.
To join the channel open Whatsapp, tap the Updates icon, then tap on the bell icon to be able to receive alerts.
The municipality calls on residents to join the channel and activate alerts, in order to ensure immediate and accurate information when needed.
In addition, the municipality reminds us of the Home Front Command's instructions:
When receiving an alert, you must immediately enter a protected area according to the time available to you (in Modi’in Maccabim Reut, the time period is 90 seconds).
You must remain in the protected area until you receive official instructions to exit.
Do not approach missile fragments or suspicious objects and report this to the police.
The municipality emphasizes that adhering to the guidelines and receiving information only from official channels helps save lives and maintain public safety.
