Memorial Day for Israel’s Fallen Soldiers & Victims of Hostilities

Memorial Day events will be held this year in the shadow of the security tensions in a reduced format, adapted to the Home Front Command's guidelines.

This year's Memorial Day events for Israel’s Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Hostile Acts takes place in the shadow of the complex security reality in accordance with the defense policy and the Home Front Command's guidelines, in a format adapted respectfully to the spirit of the day.

The eve of Memorial Day on Monday, April 20, include municipal ceremonies throughout the city. The main municipal ceremony will be held either at the amphitheater of Ironi Bet high school, or at the Ampi on Emek HaHula, in accordance with the Home Front Command's defense guidelines. We will update the final location of the ceremony closer to the date of the ceremony. At the same time, the traditional ceremony will be held at Mor High School.

Assembly for ceremonies will begin at 19:30, and they will commence with the sound of the siren at 20:00.

Later in the evening, from 21:15, several city events will be held in honor of Memorial Day and will include song, remembrance, and fighters discourses. The events will be held at several locations throughout the city:
"And We Will Remember All..." - An evening of warriors’ songs featuring the Raanana Symphony Orchestra with singer Raviv Kaner. Location: GRAY Club or Heichal HaTarbut, at 21:30. Registration on the municipality's website from Thursday, April 16 at 12:00.

Fighters' talk at the sports hall in Reut with the participation of: Maj. (res.) Lt. Col. (res.) Assaf Maitiv, Yanshuf Squadron, a pilot who participated in the rescue attempt of Ron Arad, and a Yammam fighter from the first force that fought in the Gaza envelope on 7/10. Hosted by Amir Bar Shalom, at 21:15.

"Remembering, Singing and Telling" at 21:30 ,at Modi'in Heichal HaTarbut, hosted by Moriah Kor with the participation of singer Udi Ullman and the Yeshiva Lapid High School. Registration on the municipality's website from Thursday 16.4.26 at 12:00.

The following day, Tuesday, April 21, a memorial ceremony for the fallen of the Israeli forces will be held in the military section of the Modi'in Cemetery at 11:00 (the public is asked to arrive at the cemetery by 10:30).

The municipality reminds you that due to the shortage of parking at the cemetery, entry in private vehicles is only permitted to bereaved families. The Security Administration has contacted the families in advance and coordinated their arrival with them in advance.

As every year, the municipality will provide free transportation services to and from the cemetery for the benefit of the general public. The service is from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The transportation will depart in rounds from the Water and Sports Park parking lot at 255 Emek Ela Street.

The municipality emphasizes that due to the security situation, all events are subject to defense policy and Home Front Command guidelines and changes in accordance with security developments.
