Registration for student scholarships for 2026-27 opens; approximately 1.5 million shekels will be distributed in various tracks, including scholarships of up to 10,000 shekels for community involvement.
On Thursday, September 3, 2026, Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut Municipality opened registration for student scholarships for the upcoming academic year. This year, approximately 1.5 million shekels will be distributed to students living in the city as part of a variety of scholarship tracks, with the aim of helping to finance their studies while at the same time encouraging social and community involvement and activity.
The municipal scholarship system operates in collaboration with Mifal HaPais and other organizations and allows students to participate throughout the year in activities in the fields of welfare, education, youth and young adults, the elderly, and social and community projects throughout the city.
Among the tracks offered this year is the Municipal Social Engagement Scholarship, under which students who meet the conditions will be able to receive a scholarship in exchange for 30 to 50 hours of activity for the community. Depending on the suitability and budget, it will be possible to increase the scope of the activity and accordingly the amount of the scholarship, up to a ceiling of 10,000 shekels.
Another track is "Involved in the Community" in cooperation with Mifal HaPais, under which a scholarship of 10,000 shekels will be awarded in exchange for 140 hours of social involvement. The students will be integrated into social and community projects in the municipality's departments and organizations operating in the city.
This year, a track designed for students with an educational and guidance orientation will also operate, who will be integrated into the guidance of adult layers in the city's youth movements. A scholarship of 10,000 shekels will be awarded as part of this track.
Alongside the municipal tracks, collaborations with Perach, "Etnachta" association and other organizations will also continue, combining financial assistance for students with significant community service.
This year, special consideration will also be given to female and male reserve service members, in recognition of their contribution and the scope of service they performed during the war. Details of the relief will be detailed within the scholarship terms.
In recent years, the municipal scholarship system has become a significant part of the work for the city's youth. Beyond financial assistance, the scholarships are integrated into activities for children and youth, senior citizens, new immigrants, people with special needs and other community projects. Last year, participants in the scholarship programs performed more than 20,000 hours of activity for the community.
