The municipality's efforts are bearing fruit. In a meeting held between Mayor Haim Bibas and the Director General of the Ministry of Transportation, significant additional steps were taken to improve public transportation lines in the city.
As part of the transportation services improvement, line 57 will be inaugurated as early as August 1, 2023, which will be a fast line to the Nofim and Tsipporim neighborhoods, with a high frequency from Sunday to Friday and at night. In addition, the line will serve as a fast and efficient route for passengers to Einav Center. The route of the new line will start at the southern parking lot of Pata’ey Train station, near the pedestrian bridge, through Einav Center, Nofim and Tsipporim neighborhoods, to Sderot Hashmonaim towards city hall, with its final stop at Ironi Alef High school.
This line will supplement the existing line 56, which is a longer line, and together they will provide more efficient public transportation to these neighborhoods and Einav center. Line 56 will operate with a combined frequency with line 57; the end and departure stations will be in the southern parking lot near the pedestrian bridge of Pata’ey Modi'in train station, and in the other direction - at Dam Hamaccabim. The municipality emphasizes that Line 56 will continue to serve the students of the "Masuat Neria" schools and the Orot Modi'in ulpana during rush hours in the morning and in the afternoon.
In addition, as of September 1, 2023, a new line, no. 52, will commence. This will be a circular line to the Moreshet neighborhood, with a frequency of two trips per hour. This bus will leave from city hall towards transportation square, Emek Zevulun, Rehov Paz, Emek Hefer and along Golda Meir Street in Moreshet and back.
There will also be a significant improvement in bus services to the technology park with a new line, (which will join existing line 55 ) connecting the technology park with Pata’ey Modi'in train station, for the workers in the technology park during the morning and afternoon hours. This line is planned to operate from 1.11.23. This line will be synchronized with the train timetables.
The municipality also informed that lines 50, 51 and 58 which were reduced by the Ministry of Transportation last summer, will be restored, starting from 1.8.23. These lines go through the city neighborhoods.
As mentioned, new and improved services are a product of the municipality's efforts to create efficiency and significant improvements in public transportation, among others, in the neighborhoods of Nofim, Tsipporim, Moreshet and the technology park, by analyzing data and inquiries based on the needs of the residents in the area. These were expressed in the petition filed by the municipality against the Ministry of Transportation and the "Kavim" bus company, as well as in meetings held by the municipality with the Ministry of Transportation.
