A special course for training environmental activists has ended. The program was attended by 20 residents who wished to be involved and initiate for the community, in everything related to dealing with the climate crisis.
The program was held on 14.2.24, under the leadership of the Quality and Environmental Planning Department in the Shefa Division together with the Ministry of Environmental Protection. Residents engaged and learned about important issues in a variety of fields - the culture of consumption and reducing ecological footprints in households, at city and national level, the problem of waste at the local and global level, the importance of green lungs, efficiency and sustainable transportation with inspiring examples of urban changes, a tour of urban sustainability sites and more.
At the end of the program, the residents presented the projects they created together. For example, recycled streets or buildings competition, green roofs in public buildings, lectures in bars or restaurants and more.
The projects will be examined by a steering committee that will include professionals in the municipality and representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the possibility of their implementation will be examined
