This was the fourth year of the "Movies in Boots" festival, which was particularly successful.
More than 600 residents and visitors enjoyed new, quality Israeli films that put a special spotlight on local Israeli productions.
Each day of the festival, a different Israeli film, feature or documentary, was screened in Ironi Alef auditorium. After each screening, discussions were held with the filmmakers, which provided an opportunity for the audience to ask questions and get a broader picture of the creative process, behind-the-scenes secrets, and more.
The festival opened with the film "Sheva Brachot", which was recently shown in cinemas, winner of ten Ophir awards, including the award for the best film of 2023. On Thursday, the documentary film "Zvi Omer" was screened, commemorating ten years since the death of the singer Arik Einstein.
On Friday, the film "Poliker, the child in me" was screened with rare archive clips about the singer and composer Yehuda Poliker.
The festival was concluded on Saturday evening with the film "This City", the first rap opera of its kind in Hebrew.
