Return of classes for seniors

The special program "Seniors' Class" is back in action this year with the participation of 36 senior citizens.
The studies servenot only an educational framework that sharpens the mind and curiosity, but also a social framework.

As part of the program, which takes place under the leadership of the Community Division and the Ministry of Social Equality, the senior citizens, the youngest of whom is 63 and the oldest is 83, return to school and participate in various classes.

The studies are held once a week at Ironi Hey High school and are delivered by veteran teachers and include - citizenship studies, physical education, Israeli culture and history.

The program operated with great success in the city for three years before the Corona crisis. This year it is back in action and is causing great excitement among the senior citizens who look forward to it every week.

Ziva Asa, director of the community department: "This is one of the most exciting and successful projects. It's amazing to see residents happy to return to the classroom after decades. It was exciting to return the project in light of its great success in the past. The students of the class undoubtedly deserve a certificate of excellence."
