Visiting the Dutch Embassy

The city's students participated in a special visit to the Embassy of the Netherlands, as part of the "Model United Nations Club" included in the city's excellence program. The meeting, held in the presence of Ambassador Marriet Schuurman exposed the students to the world of diplomacy.

Here they had the opportunity to ask in-depth questions about diplomatic issues and cooperation between Israel and the Netherlands.

The students described the meeting as interesting and educational, in which they were exposed to various topics ranging from daily work at the embassy to broader topics such as the diplomatic relations between the countries.
The ambassador expressed great appreciation for the meaningful and interesting questions raised by the students.

As part of the educational process, the students will participate in a Zoom meeting with an employee of the Israeli Embassy in the Netherlands, to fully experience the diplomatic process.

The "Model UN Club" excellence program, which is held with great success in the city, prepares the next generation of diplomats and leaders through exposure to the world of diplomacy, international politics and advanced discussion skills. The program is for students in grades 9-11 and includes 20 sessions held in the Excellence center named for Brigadier General Nati Golan.

As part of the program, students learn about international relations and international law, rules of debate, procedures of the various UN committees. This while improving the abilities of dialog, analysis and expression and a significant improvement in the use of the English language.

Registration for open evenings for parents and students will be held during the summer months, with the program targeting students with a good ability to express themselves in English, motivation and readiness to invest in the field.
