On Friday, March 8, 2024, a dedication ceremony was held to name a city lane in the name of the late Sgt. Gal Mishaelof, who was killed in battle in the Gaza Strip on November 19th 2023. The lane is located in Sderot Yitzhak Rabin Garden in front of house number 49, near his childhood home. The ceremony was held in the presence of family members and friends, the mayor, council members and many residents who came to pay their respects.

On Friday 29.3.24 there will be a dedication ceremony in memory of the late Sergeant Shlomo Gortovnik z”l. The ceremony will take place at 11:00 at 1 Migdal David Street. The public is invited to participate.

This project joins the multitude of commemorative municipal activities in the education system, which holds commemorative events throughout the year, including Tu b’Shvat ceremonies in the Grove of the Fallen, as well as a cooperative project between the Education Administration, the Ministry of Education and Beit Yad LeBanim called "Album for the Fallen" in which pupils and students, together with the bereaved families, write a memorial book for their loved ones.
