21/04/2024 י"ג ניסן תשפ"ד

The social services department has been working for months in preparation for Pesach, to help families who need assistance at this time.

This year, the department helped about 500 families with the help of donations from organizations and individuals.
The Social Services Division stated that the list of families in need of assistance is always being updated with new families being added and families that were previously registered no longer needing assistance.

In preparation for the holiday, many entities and private individuals are mobilized to help residents of the city.
Many associations distribute hundreds of food baskets worth hundreds of thousands of shekels. Among them, the French Association, Ezer Modi'in, Chabad, the Yozma community, Nashot Modi'in, MADA, Echad LeBinyan, Alphabiotech, Kehilat Nofim, Eretz HaTzvi Synagogue, Kehilat Yachad and Omerim, Kehilat Moriah and Kol Yehuda, Chesed Elad.

In addition, there were organizations, businesses, and residents who donated shopping vouchers for the holiday worth thousands of shekels - the association Chazon LeYisrael, Victory supermarket chain, attorney Shashi Elamari, and other residents who wished to donate anonymously.

The Social Services Division noted that there were other residents who chose to transfer additional private donations, such as a donor who asked a family for a shopping list for the holiday and purchased the products for them.

In addition, exciting initiatives such as a group of boys from the Modi'in city soccer team who decided this holiday to collect, pack and distribute packages to families.

It is important to note that again this year, one of the highlights in the distribution of the groceries/shopping vouchers for the holiday was suited to the nature of the family, whether in matters of kashrut or the structure of the family.

Coordinator of the volunteers in the division, Ronit Steigman Banyan, was especially moved this holiday by the great dedication and assistance for those who need it and added that: ”In this complex time. Our city once again proves its resilience and strength.”

Marina Sadeh, Director of the Social Services division:
"More than 500 families as well as senior citizens will benefit this year from the generosity of organizations and people who donate wholeheartedly for the benefit of others...

It is a great privilege to connect those who wish to give with those who wish to receive aid for the holiday, and all this with sensitivity and modesty.

I would like to thank all the donors for their willingness to give, and wish a happy Passover to all the dear families of the Division.”
