Summer is approaching and the municipal association 'Sachlabim' has begun preparations for the summer vacation, during which the city will host the 'Summer School and Kindergarten' program (”kaytanot”) and follow-up camps for children from 1.7.25 to 7.8.25.
Registration for the Summer School and Kindergarten Program opened this week on the Sachlabim Association website. This is alongside thematic camps, enrichment workshops and professional sports camps that will operate throughout the summer vacation.
Similar to recent years, the Ministry of Education's program will operate for 15 days between 1.7.25 and 21.7.25, in kindergartens and schools, from 07:30 to 13:00. The cost of the program is determined by the Ministry of Education in accordance with the authority's socio-economic index. In Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut the cost is 450 NIS (subject to funding from the Ministry of Education). As always, parents of kindergartens and grades 1-3 will be able to extend the school day until 4:30 PM by registering for lunch for an additional 715 NIS for the entire period, including a hot lunch.
The children will benefit from a diverse program that combines the development and growth with experiential and experimental activities through meaningful and enjoyable learning. The children will engage in valuable, high-quality and controlled content, and will experience cultivating abilities in the areas of enrichment, sports, environmental education, social involvement and more, all as part of maintaining educational continuity and reducing gaps.
Registration for the school and kindergarten program as well as for the follow-up camps is made on the Sachlabim Association website until 8.6.25. The association emphasizes that the students will be assigned to the same educational frameworks in which they studied during the current school year. New residents who have registered for the next school year will also be able to register, with the children's placement taking place at the end of June, based on available space. Immediately after the end of the program, Sachlabim Association will operate a variety of follow-up camps, enrichment workshops, and experiential sports camps throughout the city until August 7, 2025. Among other things, during the summer, children will be able to enjoy sports and pool camps, dance, dog training, science, gaming and technology, arts, dungeons and dragons, English, performing arts, and a wide variety of professional sports camps.
