In accordance with instructions of the Ministry of Education and the Home Front Command – there will be no educational activity in the city between June 15-21. Learning will take place from home. Matriculation exam dates will be postponed by a week.
In accordance with the updated instructions of the Home Front Command and the announcement of the Ministry of Education, the education system will switch to distance learning only, starting Sunday June 15 until Saturday, June 21.
All educational institutions will remain closed – including kindergartens, schools, after-school programs, special education frameworks, youth movements and chugim.
In addition, all activities outside schools – trips, tours, special days, graduation parties and group meetings – will be canceled until further notice.
Learning will continue from home, according to the following procedure:
The first few days will be dedicated to strengthening the personal connection between teaching staff and students, identifying emotional needs and supporting personal resilience.
Regular distance learning will then take place, combining real-time lessons (synchronous) and self-study materials (asynchronous).
Each educational institution will update parents and students regarding timetables and the manner in which lessons will be delivered.
Matriculation exams:
The dates of the matriculation exams scheduled for the coming week (June 15–19) will be postponed by a week: for example, an exam scheduled for Monday, June 16, will be held next Monday, June 23.
Boarding school and youth at risk settings: Students who cannot be evacuated will remain in their settings, with close educational and therapeutic support.
The guidelines also apply to all special education settings in the city.
