In a current situation assessment led by Mayor Haim Bibas, professional officials in the municipality and the Home Front Command, the critical importance of maintaining the life-saving guidelines of the Home Front Command was emphasized. Our city is considered among the safest in the country, with residents having protected spaces at their disposal, and a relatively long preparation time for entering a protected space.
Since the outbreak of the war with Iran, the Home Front Command has moved to a 3-stage model of preparation and readiness.
According to the model:
First stage: Within 30 minutes to 15 minutes, a warning will be received about the need to stay near a protected area.
Second stage: Within 10 minutes, with the start of launches from Iran towards Israel, an additional and louder warning will be received on mobile phones instructing readiness to enter the protected area.
Third stage: Within a minute and a half, if there is a missile launch in the area, sirens will be activated in the public space and a warning will be received to enter the protected area.
Please note: Another important change is that you must stay in the protected area until you receive a new message in the app, because there may be several launches in short intervals and falling interception fragments. This instruction saves lives!
During this complex period, the municipality provides only essential services.

As part of the guidelines, there is no public reception at the municipality offices until further notice.
All municipal institutions, including the Recreation and Sports Park, Spacemod, public libraries, the municipal pool, Hasmonean Heritage Museum, community and senior citizen centers, the climbing wall, Heichal Ha Tarbut and the Multidisciplinary Center, will be closed until further notice.
The municipal education system, including special education frameworks, classes, after-school programs and youth movements, graduation parties and trips, are all cancelled. Learning will take place remotely from home, with the first few days dedicated to strengthening the connection between teachers and students and identifying emotional needs and supporting personal resilience.
