Student scholarships 2025-26

Approximately one and a half million shekels will be distributed to resident students in scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year.

The scholarship application phase began earlier this month, September 2, aiming to provide students with financial stability before the start of the academic year On September 2, the municipality issued a "call for applications" for scholarships for city resident students, in preparation for the upcoming academic year (2025-2026). The scholarships are provided by the municipality with the support of the Lottery and in cooperation with other organizations.

The total amount of scholarships to be awarded is estimated at approximately one and a half million shekels; for the benefit of young students in the city, who in return will donate their time to the community in the areas of welfare, youth, children, young people, the elderly, and more.

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, there are approximately 4,700 students in Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut, who study at numerous higher educational institutions throughout the country. Students who are accepted into the various scholarship tracks perform more than 20,000 hours of activity for the community. Program participants benefit, in addition to the financial reward, from a sense of empowerment and belonging to the city and from contributing to the advancement of social and community projects in the city. Among the areas of volunteering: promoting projects for diverse populations, new immigrants, youth, children, special needs, the elderly, assistance in community centers, and more.

Students who choose to submit an application will be able to choose between four possible tracks:
A social involvement scholarship for the community in the city, in which student residents and graduates of the city will receive a scholarship in exchange for their activity in the community in the amount of 30-50 hours.

A practicum scholarship, in cooperation with Mifal HaPais, in which approximately 30 student residents of the city will receive a scholarship of 10,000 NIS, in exchange for their activity in in-depth support of long-term social projects, to the extent of 150 hours within the framework of the activities of the municipality's departments. This track also includes scholarships for mentoring adult leaders in youth movements (4 scholarships), in cooperation with Mifal HaPais. Here, students who are graduates and residents of the city will receive a scholarship in exchange for their activity in mentoring young men and women, for 150 hours, within the framework of youth movements in the city. This scholarship will be given to students with an educational orientation and an affinity for the activities of youth movements.

The traditional “Perach” scholarships in cooperation with Perach and the Lottery (Mifal HaPais), in the amount of 10,000 NIS, will be distributed to approximately 50 students in exchange for 140 hours. The activity will include mentoring students and volunteering in social and community projects (registration for these scholarships is done through the Perach website and student associations only).

Scholarships in collaboration with Etnachta Association, worth 10,000 NIS, will be distributed to approximately 30 students for 150 hours. The activity will include social gatherings aimed at connecting students to the world of content and experience of Jewish-Israeli identity as well as social engagement activities for the community (registration for this scholarship is through the association's website).

The scholarships provide financial assistance, while at the same time encouraging and strengthening community involvement.”
