The late Sahar Sudai was born and raised in his youth in the city of Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut. He was characterized by modesty, quiet activity, and a deep sense of responsibility towards his surroundings. The phrase that was most identified with him, "Say little and do much," was not a slogan for him, but a way of life. Upon his enlistment in the IDF, Sahar chose combat service. He served as a soldier and later as a commander and platoon sergeant in the Rotem Battalion of the Givati Brigade.
As a commander, Sahar led his soldiers with responsibility, dedication and personal example.
During the Iron Swords War, Sahar fought in the Gaza Strip, and on May 26, 2024, 18 Iyar 5774, he fell in battle during an operational activity in the northern Gaza Strip.
The dedication ceremony of the path is part of the municipal initiative to commemorate the city's fallen men and women, where public stairways and paths are named after the fallen. Next to each location is a memorial stone that includes a scan code, allowing residents and visitors to read about the life story, path and legacy of the fallen, as part of the urban space and community memory.
