The municipality invited users of the 712 bus line of the "Naim BeSofash" project to participate in a survey, which aims to improve, refine and expand the service that has been operating for four years on weekends and holidays, between Modi'in and Tel Aviv.
The Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut Municipality has been operating the 712 municipal shuttle line for the fourth year, as part of the "Naim BeSofash" collaborative transportation project. The project, which was carried out in collaboration with Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, offers a free shuttle service on weekends and holidays, allowing residents of the city to reach central destinations in Tel Aviv and back to Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut in comfort and accessibility, even on days when regular public transportation is not available.
The line has been very successful, and in recent years there has been a steady increase in the number of users. Following high demand, Mayor Haim Bibas decided to promote a move to expand the service. As part of this move, the municipality launched a dedicated survey, the aim of which is to learn from service users how the line's operations can be improved and made more precise in accordance with needs in the field.
The survey addressed only users of the 712 bus line, with the intention of obtaining a reliable picture from the field. Its results will help examine options for expanding the travel system, including expansion during rush hours, requests that have been raised many times by residents.
As is known, line 712 operates every weekend, from the beginning of Shabbat on Friday until sundown Saturday night, and provides an available and efficient solution for residents who wish to spend time, visit relatives, study or enjoy culture in the big city, all without relying on a private vehicle.
Dr. Ofir Lang, Director of the Strategic Planning, Research and Innovation Division, is currently analyzing the survey data in preparation for formulating the line's future operating hours.
