New direct line to Chativat Sheva junction

Good news for the city's soldiers: starting Sunday, February 15, 2026, a new direct bus route, line 25, will connect the city's central bus station and Chativat Sheva junction at Latrun - one of the main access routes to the southern army bases.

After extensive work by Modi'in Maccabim Reut Municipality, led by Mayor Haim Bibas, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation, this new transportation pilot is underway to make it easier for the city's soldiers to get to the southern bases.

Mayor Haim Bibas welcomed the launch of the line and noted that it was an achievement born from listening to the needs that emerged from the field: "This is an important step that expresses our commitment to the city's soldiers. They give of themselves to the country, and we are committed to ensuring that their ways to the base will also be easier, safer, and more respectful."

As is known, Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut has one of the highest percentages of recruitment to the IDF. Until now, many of them have had to deal with complex trips, walking with heavy equipment or relying on private transportation, a reality that was far from ideal.

Line 25, operated by Egged, will operate on Sundays and Thursdays, deaprting from the central bus station in Modi'in, via Sderot Hashmonaim and Menachem Begin Road, continue via the Latrun Interchange and end at the Chativat Sheva intersection, with an end point at the "Park and Ride" parking lot. In the return direction, the line will operate on a similar route and will return the soldiers directly into the city.

This bus line operated in the past in a similar format, but the Ministry of Transportation canceled it due to lack of demand. Therefore, the results of the line's operation in the coming weeks are of great importance. In this context, the mayor noted that the pilot will be closely monitored by the director of the Public Transportation and Road Safety Department: "We will examine the demand and use of the line, learn from the field and work to expand and improve accordingly. Because our soldiers deserve more."

The municipality also believes that the success of the pilot will lead to the expansion of the service in the future and the addition of additional transportation solutions that will continue to facilitate the service routine.
