A serious incident of a vehicle driven recklessly and causing damage to public property occurred over the weekend in the municipal parking lot in the Moreshet neighborhood.
The municipality's cameras recorded young people driving recklessly in a municipal parking lot and causing damage to the infrastructure. Those involved were located, a complaint was filed, and the municipality will also act to file a financial claim.
At one point, the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a service wall and electrical cabinet located in one of the parking lots head-on, causing damage to the infrastructure at the location.
The entire incident was recorded on the parking lot's security cameras. Using the documentation, the municipality was able to locate those involved in the incident, and a complaint was filed with the Modi'in police station.
Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut municipality emphasizes that this is a serious incident and that the municipality will not ignore it. In addition to filing the complaint, the municipality will also work to file a financial claim for the damage caused to the parking lot infrastructure.
The municipality also notes that the incident illustrates the importance of the municipal camera surveillance system, which is a key tool in maintaining security and order in the public space. The cameras enable rapid detection of unusual events, identification of those involved, and assistance to enforcement agencies in handling cases of damage to public property.
