Lag BaOmer bonfire regulations

Lag BaOmer is approaching and the municipality is in preparations, along with the Security and Emergency Administration and Fire Department. The lighting of bonfires will be permitted for one day only, Monday, May 4th 2026, in a designated open area away from residential buildings.

The municipality emphasized that the lighting of bonfires is permitted as long as no directive prohibiting it has been issued by the Fire and Rescue Commissioner in advance of the holiday and depending on the weather.

The lighting of bonfires will take place in the open area approved by the Municipality's Security and Emergency Administration:
The area parallel to Emek HaEla Street (on its northern side) from Yehuda HaMaccabi Road to HaYa’ar Street.

The open area parallel to Emek HaEla Street (on its northern side) from HaYa’ar Street to the "Niyar Hadera" complex.

The Municipality's Security Administration emphasized that bonfires are allowed only in this area, and there will be increased enforcement to prevent any bonfires throughout the city, which is prohibited by municipal bylaw.

The instructions of the Fire and Rescue Service must be observed and adhered to with extreme caution.

It is recommended to coordinate in advance the lighting of bonfires in the approved area, at the municipal hotline 106.
