MA.COM returns for the summer

05/05/2026 י"ח אייר תשפ"ו

Youth recreation in the city center (Maar) under the framework of MA.COM returns this weekend, Friday 8th May.

Following the increase in municipal activity in the field of information, prevention and enforcement, the Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut Municipality is renewing the activity of the MA.COM complex in the MAAR. The complex will resume operation this Friday (8.5.26) and will be held every weekens during the summer months, to offer youth a safe, supervised and positive recreation space on the weekends.

The MA.COM complex, which is operated under the leadership of the Municipality's Community Safety Department, is intended for youth who spend time in the city center on Friday evenings and nights. The complex offers a pleasant and non-judgmental space, including seating areas, game tables, activity stations, music, open dialogue and the presence of professional staff; a safe and fun space for youth, operating on Friday nights throughout the summer vacation.

The activity is taking place as part of a broad municipal policy, which combines creating positive responses for youth and maintaining public order in the MAAR. Alongside the opening of the complex, the increased presence of municipal policing, municipal security patrols, Modi'in police, community security elements and the municipal parents' patrol will also continue.

The goal of the combined activity is to prevent risky behaviors, reduce incidents of violence, prevent drinking alcohol in public spaces and maintain a safe and pleasant entertainment environment for youth, residents and business owners in the city center.

As part of the complex's activities, and as has been done in previous years, a small and safe pedestrian environment near the Gray Club will be designated for this activity. The section of the street between Pasta Basta and Alma Market will be closed off to allow for a more protected and comfortable entertainment space.

The municipality emphasizes that dealing with the challenges of youth recreation does not rely only on enforcement, but also on information, presence, personal contact and the creation of positive alternatives. The MA.COM activity is designed to provide a response to exactly this need: a place where youth can meet, spend time and feel seen, while maintaining public safety and order in the urban space. The municipality calls on parents to continue to be involved, to talk to youth about the nature of their recreation, to know where they are, and to encourage them to choose safe and supervised spaces. A combination of municipal presence, preventive activity, focused enforcement and parental involvement is the key to a safer summer for everyone.
