Thousands of residents participated in summer opening events, from the beer festival to family activities throughout the city.
Summer in Modiin Maccabim Reut has begun, and with it the municipal summer events program has also opened, with a wide variety of activities for all ages, at various locations throughout the city.
The main event, which opened the first week, was the municipal beer festival, which took place over two days, on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 30 and July 1, at the Fish Park, where thousands of residents came each evening to enjoy the happy summer atmosphere, a wide selection of beers, food stands, seating areas, and an open-air community gathering.
Festivalgoers enjoyed dozens of types of beer, different flavors, diverse drink options, including gluten-free spirits, and food stands that completed the entertainment experience. Two bands were responsible for the musical atmosphere: the Mercedes Band, which performed on the first evening, and the Giraffe Band, which took the stage on the second evening and thrilled the audience in one of the most notable opening events of the summer.
Later in the week, the first fountain party of the summer took place in Anabe Park, where hundreds of children and parents came for a particularly wet, refreshing and family-friendly pastime. The fountain plaza became a happy center of music, water, movement and a summer atmosphere, just what children need at the beginning of the summer vacation.
On Sunday, Sachlabim Association held a Lego happening, which offered girls and boys a creative, colorful and fun activity, with construction, imagination and handwork. On Tuesday in Tsipporim, a “Movies in the Neighborhood” event took place, as part of the desire to bring summer activities closer to home, to the neighborhoods and to the residents.
Later this week, on Thursday, an environmental quality happening will be held at the fairgrounds near the Azrieli Mall. The event will deal with sustainability, recycling and protecting the environment, and will offer experiential activities for families and children around green and important topics, in an accessible and fun way.
Also Thursday, a special screening of the World Cup quarter-final match between France and Morocco will be held at the Barbecue Park at Einav Center. The screening will take place on a giant screen, in a community and festive soccer atmosphere, with lots of energy of a big tournament and summer in the city.
The week's events will continue on Friday with story hours for children, and on Saturday night, a series of music performances "Anabe Nights" will launch, with the Soda band in a tribute show to the bands Kveret, Gazoz and Doda. The show is expected to bring back to the stage the familiar and beloved songs, in a nostalgic, happy atmosphere. It is open to the general public.
The municipality notes that the summer opening events are just the beginning of a rich program that will continue throughout July and August, with shows, activities for children, youth events, sports, culture, community and entertainment close to home. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy a summer full of intelligence activities, music, family and a good atmosphere.
