As part of the municipality's actions to improve cleanliness and public spaces, a washing and stain removal operation will begin in the city center, in cooperation with business owners.
As part of the ongoing operations led by the Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut Municipality to maintain a clean, well-maintained and pleasant city, a washing, cleaning and stain removal operation in the city center (the "Maar") will begin on Sunday, August 9, 2026. The operation, designed to maintain a clean, inviting and safe city center, for the benefit of business owners, visitors and all city residents, will be carried out by the Shefa Administration, is expected to last between two and three weeks, and will be carried out as part of the municipal effort to upgrade public spaces, improve the appearance of the city center and strengthen the experience of entertainment, commerce and staying in the city center.
The move joins a series of actions promoted by the municipality to strengthen the Ma'ar as an active, clean and inviting urban center for business owners, residents and visitors. The municipality emphasizes that in addition to developing public space and promoting commercial, cultural and recreational activities in the city center, it is also of great importance to maintain a high level of maintenance and cleanliness, which supports businesses and improves the experience of visiting the place.
In the first phase, washing and removing stains will be carried out along the main avenue in the Ma'ar. Subsequently, a thorough washing of the sidewalks adjacent to the businesses will be carried out, with an emphasis on commercial, entertainment and food businesses.
In order to carry out the work thoroughly, safely and efficiently, during the hours when the work will be carried out, business owners will be asked to clear tables, chairs and equipment located on the sidewalk in order to allow full access for the cleaning teams. In addition, during the work, water pipes will be deployed along the sidewalks, and sometimes also on the road. In cases where a pipe is required to cross the road, it will be covered with appropriate safety measures to allow safe passage for pedestrians and vehicles.
The municipality also stated that the work will be carried out some days during the day and some days at night, depending on the needs of the project, traffic loads and commercial activity in the area.
The municipality emphasized that the operation was carried out in coordination with all relevant parties, including Ofek, which will assist in notifying business owners, and the Gardens and Landscape Department, which will assist in connecting to water points in areas where this is possible.
