Approximately 30 new immigrant families participated in a municipal conference ahead of the start of the school year, which included an introduction to the education system, tools for adaptation, and personal support.
The Education Administration in Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut Municipality, in collaboration with the Municipal Absorption Department, recently held a special conference ahead of the start of the new school year, designed for families of new immigrants who have arrived in the city.
The conference, which took place on August 27, 2026, was attended by approximately 30 families who received information and guidance for their children's integration into the municipal education system. The meeting was opened by the Education Portfolio Holder in the City Council, Idan Hemi, who congratulated the families on joining the Modi'in Maccabim Re'ut community, wished the children and parents success, and emphasized the municipality's commitment to personal guidance throughout the absorption process.
Two professional lectures followed. Dr. Yael Araly, Director of the Secondary Education Division, presented the structure of the municipal education system, the unique programs and the educational options available to immigrant students.
Rivka Kaplan, an educational psychologist, discussed the process of adapting to life in Israel and emotional and family tools that can help children and parents cope with the transition to the Israeli education system.
At the end of the conference, personal conversations were held with the families, during which answers were given to the questions and needs that arose.
The Absorption Department and the Education Administration continues to accompany the families throughout the school year, with the aim of helping them integrate into the education system and the municipal community in the best possible way.
